GOD & The Weather

Is This Weather From "Mother Nature," or "GOD ALMIGHTY"?

I'm sure you've heard someone at one time or another blame "Mother Nature" for things like inclement weather patterns, climate change, or natural disasters? However, they would be wiser to start blaming Father GOD..., and this short study will reveal why. The reason I believe we all need to know for certain that GOD, and GOD alone uses the weather both to bless and to curse, is so that the nations and peoples of the Earth would learn to praise GOD and turn from their sinful ways onto GOD before even greater chastisement has to come upon us from The Almighty. Unfortunately, most of the people that know not their GOD have labeled and blamed all sorts of astrological, geological, and cataclysmic events on such things as, natural disasters, global warming, La Nina/El Nino, and other assorted scapegoats. Some have even ironically used the term, "An act of God" when blaming that which they have already refused to believe in! What's worse, there are even some Christians out there that have fallen prey to these so called scientific lies of the enemy.

What I believe is happening is that "global warming," "climate change," or whatever those that know not their GOD try to call these disasters (which are really the pleadings of the Lord), are nothing more than satanically inspired intellectual excuses to deny GOD'S displeasure with not only the world, but with the once proclaimed Christian nation (America), and many of its people who have forsaken Him in these last days. Of course GOD'S dealings must also include the rest of the world. However, "the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God." There's no denying the Bible speaks of many end-time judgments that would manifest as so-called natural disasters and weather related events. These include, earthquakes, famines, overflowing rains, floods, whirlwinds, destroying hail, massive solar flares (Rev 16:8-9), etc. Yet it seems most of the people will only see these disasters/judgments/pleadings of GOD, as some great humanistic challenge to be overcome by human effort. They are not seeing the reality of GOD'S pleading with His people that they would turn their hearts to, or back to GOD before it's too late. Sadly, these things will not cease until there is repentance and a turning onto the living GOD; 9/11 was no different. God will not protect a nation that has turned it's back to Him, and these judgments and pleadings will only continue to increase.

"And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD." Ezekiel 38:22-23

"And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.  And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered. So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD."  Amos 4:6-8

I have heard people ask, "Why would God use the weather to punish the peoples and nations of the Earth?" Still others will say the so-called, God of love would never do such a thing as to destroy whole towns and parts of the world He created—really? Nevertheless, the Bible tells us flat-out that when lines are crossed for the umpteenth time, and after wickedness becomes the norm in the land—sanctioned by governments' no less—that the GOD of righteous justice and judgment most certainly uses His creation (the weather, the planets, and even the cosmos if necessary: Lk 21:25) as tools of judgment. Furthermore, the Bible tells us these judgments will increase as the last-days of this present age approach. It says they will come upon the Earth like birth pangs of a pregnant woman. It (the Bible) says these judgments within nature will increase and grow in number and severity as the time of the end draws near. Just think back to how many times an earthquake, hurricane, or even a tornado has stuck, and yet the loss of life was comparatively minimal for what could have been; then you would see GOD'S been very merciful and patient with us. Although as we are starting to see, that mercy is beginning to run out.

Finally, it should be noted that many of the verses listed below speak not only of natural weather conditions, but they also include symbolic types that represent those who God will use to bring forth His judgment in the last days (i.e., wicked destroying nations types like Gog & the Ten toes/horns). We must keep in mind that many things in the Bible will manifest in three realms. Those being the natural, the spiritual, and the fullness of both, which is what is about to break forth on the earth.

"Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word:" Psalms 148:8

"Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?" Job 38:22-23

"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. "Luke 21:25-26

"Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone (volcanic), and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright." Psalm 11:6-7

"I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest. Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city." Psalm 55:8-9

"So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm. Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD." Psalm 83:15-16

"Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire." Isaiah 29:6

"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." Matthew 24:7-8

"Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand. The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet." Isaiah 28:2-3

"The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt [volcanoes], and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies." Nahum 1:3-8

"God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend. For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength. He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work. Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places. Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north. By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened [frozen: hail]. Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud: And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth. He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy." Job 37:5-13

"The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind. And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us." Isaiah 17:13-14

"Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked. The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly." Jeremiah 23:19-20

"Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil [Gog] shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind [destroying armies/Ten Horns] shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground." Jeremiah 25:32-33

The verses you just read are but a sampling of the many verses in the Bible that tell us not only who makes the weather, but who it is that uses it as a tool of reproof and judgment, and believe you me, it's not mother nature. My prayer is that this world will wake up to its sinful, God hating condition before it is too late. GOD has, will, and is going to use the weather in ways we have not even dreamed of yet. The Bible speaks of such things as scorching solar rays that will burn the flesh (Rev 16:9). Now if that's not enough, "100-lb hailstones" are prophesied to rail down in the book of Revelation 16:21. Oh that the people of the Earth—all of us— would just repent before it's too late. Regrettably, it seems the nations of the world have become so filled with stubbornness and prideful decadence (Lk 19:14), that it seems the weather may be one of the few things left that GOD can use to get the world's and the sleeping churches attention.
